The Goblin

KTO

“Every day with you was dazzling.”
Trip to Seoul with the drama The Goblin

The workshops, galleries and cafes on Samcheongdonggil Road between Gyeongbokgung Palace and Bukchon Hanok Village maintain their old style. You can come across many sites where The Goblin was filmed when you walk from Anguk Station to Samcheongdonggil Road. First, get an umbrella before you go! If you go to Gamgodanggil Road after leaving exit No. 1 of Anguk Station, you can see the place where Gong Yu (as Kim Sin), holding a black umbrella, met Kim Go-eun (as Ji Eun-tak) for the first time. Open your umbrella and take a photo by posing like Gong Yu. Kim Go-eun, excited after getting the winning lottery numbers from Gong Yu, was filmed at a bench on Yunboseongil Road and Yulgongno 3-gil nearby. Yulgongno 1-gil is where Gong Yu fought with Park Jung-heon, a disloyal subject as well as an evil spirit. The alleyway beside Jeongdok Public Library is a must-go course if you are a fan of the couple Lee Dong-uk (as the Grim Reaper) and Yu In-na (as Sunny). You have to visit this place because it is where their poignant breakup scene was filmed. The Deoksugung Stone Wall Path is one of the popular roads to walk along in Seoul. Gong Yu and Lee Dong-uk recognized each other here. You can go along the walkway while looking at the yellow autumn leaves in fall or snow in the winter.

A local market is an attractive place for tourists to try local food and street food without any burden. There are many things to see, and the cheap prices are advantageous. The popular traditional markets Gwangjang Market and Tongin Market are located in Jongno-gu, Seoul. They have appeared on many television shows, such as Running Man and Infinite Challenge. It is fun looking at the photos of celebrities who previously visited the stores. Gwangjang Market is popular because it is near Jongno and Cheonggyecheon Stream. Many tourists keep on coming here thanks to the various kinds of food sold in the market such as gimbap, mung bean pancakes and seafood. You must try the Dosirak (Lunch Box) Café in Tongin Market, located in Seochon. You can pick from a variety food and eat in the Café. First, exchange 5,000 won for 10 yeopjeons (a traditional brass coin with a square hole in the middle), a monetary unit used in the Dosirak Café. Then look around the market and fill your dosirak tray with the food you want to eat. You pay for the food with yeopjeon. You can purchase it in small amounts with one or two yeopjeons, so do not buy too much of one item! Trying a small amount of many kinds of food is recommended.

TIP
You must try this in the market!
You must try the gireum ttoekbokki, spicy rice cakes stir-fried in oil without any soup, at Tongin Market. You should also eat the mayak gimbap in Gwangjang Market! It is called mayak (narcotic) because of its addictive taste. Dip one bite-sized mini-gimbap in mustard sauce, and try eating it with spicy rice cakes.
